BREAST CANCER AWARENESS DAY

Breast Cancer is a rising danger around the world. With 12,300 cases in 2018 in Saudi Arabia alone, it is the most common type of cancer threat today. It's therefore important to spread awareness about the condition – how to avoid it, how to detect symptoms, treatment options and more.

With almost 38% of women employees, the cause is very important to Anjum Hotel Makkah. In October 2019, Anjum’s management took a number of activities at the hotel to spread awareness about Breast Cancer. Employees wore a pink ribbon through the month to show their support; and an all-day pink themed event was held with the partnership of the Health Affairs in the Holy City, the Health Awareness Department for Makkah Region and Health Education organization.

Dr. Israa Imam from the Health Awareness Department for Makkah Region, conducted an informative session about breast cancer for all the women in Anjum Hotel. She gave an insightful presentation about understanding of the causes of cancer, the symptoms to watch out for and the various treatments available today.

"Women must never take any changes in the body for granted and never hesitate to seek help", said Nada El Guthmi, Director of Sales and Marketing at Anjum Hotel Makkah. “ We are deeply grateful towards the Health Affairs, the Health Awareness Department and Health Education organization at the Holy City of Makkah who supported our employees relentlessly during this month.”
